About the Art Gal
Hi I am Jessica, thanks for stopping by! I am an art teacher (which really is 50 other professions in one), wife, foodie, fur mom, movie critic, and pinterest addict! I wanted a space to document my lessons as well as share some tips and knowledge I have had through my own lesson plans and trying to work through cute lessons I see online! As creative people we generally want to share, and if it helps someone along the way I am thrilled!
I have been showing work for the past few years setting up at side of the road artshows and galleries in and around downtown Phoenix. I have has also been published in local magazines and is the organizer of the non- profit called Break the Mold which supports pursuing the arts past high school for female artists.
I am an Arizona State University alumni, majoring in Art Education with an emphasis in ceramics. I have just gotten back to school and am in a graduate program at ASU.
Lately I have been working on creating mixed media pieces where I combine many of my favorite pastimes such as collage, embroidery, and painting.
My influences in life, art and lessons include Teesha Moore, Pablo Picasso, Blaine Fontana, Jason Rudolph Pena, Romaire Bearden, and Junior High students I teach daily to name a few.
